Teachers Should Not be Held Accountable for Students Conflict with the Laws.
"Teachers opens the door, but you must enter by yourself." This proverb states that the teachers are the starting point of our learning process. It is the responsibility of the teacher to encourage and support students but it's their choice whether to lead their own learning or not. If students score higher, people say it's due to the hard work of the students but if they do something wrong, then its teachers' fault. It's true that if teachers are held accountable for students' conflict, it helps students to focus more on their studies as they have less burden but, it has potential risk of bribery, bulling cases and teachers losing their virtue and sense of justice.
First of all, if teachers are held accountable for students' misdeeds, there will be higher chance of bribing teachers. Rich students' parents bribe the teachers to take care of their children hinting them to become a private cleaner. Well, in the world where money talks, they obviously receive it. It's a win-win situation for both the parties, where one gets money and other gets assistant. No matter what the student does, the teacher will cover it up. They even make the poor their scapegoat to escape their crime and sometimes it's just for fun. In the first place, if teachers were not held accountable for students' misdeeds, they would have not been bribed by the rich ones and the culprits must have been taking their own punishments.
Secondly, there is high chance of bullying the poor ones by the rich ones. After all, they had already bribed the teachers and there won't be any risk of getting caught as it will be eventually covered up, resulting them to be fearless. The weak and poor falls prey to the strong and rich ones. The teachers turn blind to injustice, saving themselves from being held accountable and also to make their client happy. Slowly the schools turn to kingdom of the rich ones. They turn someone to their slave and some to their punching bag. As the days passes by, they might even do more hideous crime turning themselves to criminal. Therefore, we should let them be accountable for their own misdeeds and learn lessons and prevent themselves from becoming a criminal.
Thirdly, given the win-win situation, teacher losses their virtue and sense of justice. If they don't cover up their misdeeds, they will be held accountable so the best they can do is to cover it up. They don't bring justice to the victims, instead they turn blind eyes to them. Then the school will be turned to a lawless school where rich reign over it. Even if the teacher is innocent, they are to be held accountable of their students' misdeeds. So, rather than to guide students to the right path they focus on covering up the crimes so that they won't be held accountable for it, unknowingly losing their virtue and sense of justice. But if students are to be held accountable for their own misdeeds, teachers won't lose their virtue and the justice will be served.
To sum it up all, teachers' responsibilities are to just open the door, guide them inside and support them. Not to be held accountable for students' conflicts with the laws. Teacher is to teach others not to be a lawyer. But if they are held accountable for students' misdeeds, it will lead to bribery, bullying and the loss of virtue and sense of justice. To correct themselves, we must let them learn from their own flaws and experiences. Thus, teachers should not be held accountable for students' conflicts with the laws.
